Mary Marg Helgenberger (born November 16 1958) is an American actor from the United States. She started her acting career in the mid-80s and became famous for her role as Siobhan Ryan in the daytime soap show Ryan's Hope from 1982 to the year 1986. Her best-known role was Catherine Willows, a CBS procedural crime drama. Crime Scene Investigation 2000-13 and Immortality 2015, the television film which followed. In 2007, she earned the Bachelor's Degree in Art History from Columbia University. She was co-host of daytime show The View, which she was host until 2021. The show's work was recognized by her was awarded three Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Other projects of McCain include being an Daily Mail columnist after her time on The View. McCain has also written four books, including My Dad John McCain, Dirty Sexy Politics and America You Sexy Bitch.
