Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist in The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. The group failed to achieve major success within the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford's albums were not very successful and she disappeared for a few years. She returned with a bang with her smashing hit album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Both the single "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she was absent from the music industry for a few years. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards she reemerged. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
